Take cover in your camouflage and make your way to downtown Bay City for the Sixth Annual Wild Game and Wine Camofest!
Bay City's Main Street program is dedicated to the preservation of our historic downtown district. This is accomplished through a multifaceted approach, one of which is promotion of our downtown. The Wild Game and Wine Camofest is designed to introduce new people to our downtown and highlight Matagorda County's natural beauty and bounty.
Local cook teams will break out their culinary skills with dishes made from wild game, fowl, seafood and even some locally grown produce. Wine connoisseurs will enjoy tastings from Texas wineries who also will have wine for sale by the glass or the bottle. Even the beer lovers are taken care of with craft and Texas beers available for purchase.
The event honors Bay City native and world-renowned artist, Forrest Clemenger Bess, 1911-1977. While serving in the Army Corps of Engineers during WWII, Forrest received a commendation for designing camouflage.
